Snug Harbor Old World Falernum
Our best selling product, Snug Harbor Old World Falernum had its beginnings in the West Indies at the end of the 17th century. My grandfather had a bottle of Falernum in his bar but it was my grandmother who poured it over strawberries that really got my interest. Falernum is one of the original ingredients in Don the Beachcomber's Mai Tai. Our Falernum is made with organic unrefined cane sugar and spices. It contains 3% rum alcohol as a preservative. Falernum will enhance a variety of Tropical drinks especially those that contain a citrus juice. It also can be used over fruit, in coffee, and makes for a fabulous topping over ice cream (See Recipes ways to use Snug Harbor Falernum).
Currently Snug Harbor Falernum is being served or sold at Hi-Time Cellars, ARC Restaurant, Plums Cafe, Pitfire Pizza and The Mixing Glass in Costa Mesa, CA. The Whitehall Rowing and Sailing Boat
The Whitehall rowing and sailing boat dates back to the rowing wherries in England in the late 1600's. The design came to America in the early 1800's and was refined in New York Harbor where they were known for their speed and agility as a water taxi or harbor patrol boat. The later versions were modified to include a sail and were used by commercial fishermen from Maine to New Jersey. Snug Harbor Company is now hand-making these fine rowing and sailing crafts using Port Orford cedar, traditionally riveted and lapstraked planked on steam bent oak frames. Please see Whitehall Specs; more details and pictures of the Whitehall 14, click on the title above. Boats are available in 12', 14' and 16' models.
